Walter (Hilmar Thate) is a man in his late 50s from whom reality escapes. In GDR times he was director of an industrial combine, now his life's work is a ghostly ruin. Walter is stunned by the world that has discarded him. His inner rampage begins. Together with two young people, Gina and René, Walter goes on nightly patrols through Berlin's suburban and underground trains to keep order. As self-proclaimed sheriffs, the three of them wait for opportunities to beat up bullies.
