What connects real estate tycoon Donald Trump and the Heinz tomato ketchup dynasty? Their ancestors come from Kallstadt, a small, tranquil wine-growing village in the Palatinate. This concentrated entrepreneurial spirit must be in the genes! Director Simone Wendel – also a native of Kallstadt – gets to the bottom of it. She even gets Donald Trump in front of the camera, who actually takes the time to talk to her about his German roots. Just like the people of Kallstadt, who already know why Trump and Heinz have become so popular in America. Their very active village life – more club members than inhabitants – is thrown into confusion when they unexpectedly receive an invitation to New York. They are supposed to take part in the German-American Steuben Parade. Right in the middle of the grape harvest! But the people of Kallstadt are a resourceful bunch, and they don't waste any time organizing a visit to their distant relatives. And so, in addition to the Heinz factories in Pittsburgh, they also visit Niagara Falls.
